Say
hello!
I’VE WRITTEN A BOOK AND WOULD LIKE YOU TO STOCK IT AT DROP CITY BOOKS
Congratulations on writing your book and thanks for your interest in having it on the shelves at Drop City Books.
So many books are published every year and we believe our job as an independent book shop is to carefully curate a selection that guarantees our customers quality, pushes them to try something different and that makes sense in our collection. Every book in the shop is there on purpose; and we’ll say no to any book that doesn’t feel quite right for us.
We also think you should decide whether we’re the right fit for your book, so in case you weren’t sure: we’re a radical feminist book shop, we believe in a free Palestine, we believe in trans rights, we believe in the power of imagining better worlds than this one.
Books we’d love to hear more about:
· Books published by community arts organisations, charities and collectives.
· Unusual local history, particularly that tell the story of working class people, people of colour, disabled people, women and queer people.
· Local folk history.
· Zines, photo books and comics, particularly with themes around social justice and radical thinking.
Books we’d definitely say no to:
· We do not accept any books published using Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Print); DCB has no commercial relationship with Amazon whatsoever. Amazon is causing irreparable damage to the planet, the high street and the publishing industry and we’ve made the decision as a business to boycott them completely.
· We do not accept books that use generative AI (such as Chat GPT) either in the writing process or in the design or editing. We are only interested in books created by real people.
